Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, or TMS, is a healthcare technique used in psychiatry, neurology, rehabilitation and in the treatment of various central nervous system disorders. It offers an alternative to existing treatments ; in particular by allowing treatment of patients suffering from treatment-resistant depression.

TMS focally stimulates areas of approximately 2 cm² : pinpointing the area to stimulate precisely is essential for its proper use. Thus, without reliable targeting, the majority of depressed patients are not correctly stimulated in the therapeutic site.
